This everyday quilt uses an orange floral fabric found in a quilt by Sally Bennett Jones (1944-1988) from Gee's Bend, Alabama. It is backed with red and blue corduroy remnants from pillow shams made by members of the Freedom Quilting Bee for Sears Roebuck beginning in 1972. The Bee, established in 1966 as a cooperative, grew out of the civil rights movement.
